i've learnt that by paying attention to the little things we finally come to notice things that are deeper and more elusive, the things that are invisible to ordinary eyes. You have to learn how to watch carefully fo a longg time until u see what's beneath the surface...which sure isnt easy, but it would definitely be greatt if everyone in the world practiced it!

I think that beauty ultimately comes from within. So many times I've seen a person who is physically beautiful, but after hearing them talk and learning who they were, suddenly they became unattractive. And at the same time, I've met people who are physically nothing special, but because they are sweet, funny, warm and happy on the inside, these traits transcend their physical appearance, and they just become beautiful as a person. We are nothing without the light coming from within us, this light behind our eyes guides the way in which we are perceived.
Dear College gal
You said it extremely eloquently.
Thanks for sharing your lovely thoughts.
Please contribute more on various threads as we need your opinion.
Best regards

Beauty is skin deep. The real beauty does not lie in the shape or appearance but in one's innerself. A positive attitude and a will to live in harmony with the sorroundings (either people or atmosphere) is absolutely essential. If one's thinking and attitude are good, beauty will be automatically be seen in the face.

I think, the real beautiful is in your mind,if you are kind and you are great inside, you always like to do only the good thing, you will have the shine inside that it comes out from inside, and everybody know you will see, it is diffirent from the outside beauty, it will not stay last long forever, they will gone with the times, even you are the most beautiful in the world or in the gallexy or sth , it will be only history , the age will make it go by slowy,so what is the permanent beauty , it is inside your heart..you will bored with the extremly beautiful girl maybe for 1 years 3 year 10 years depend on how kind the person you are but you will never bored or forget the people that you call them you are so beautiful inside , it will record in other people mind forever, !

LOL, Its a story of tow lovers Liela and Majnoon. Majnoon was a persian boy and was very handsom, and Liela was an arab who they called her Liela because she was black like night (Liel in arabic means Night). They were so much in love that if one of them was tortured the other would have felt the pain. One day a Scholar asked Majnoon and said "Majnoon! You are so handsom and good looking, so why do you love that black arab girl." Majnoon replied " Oh Scholar! Come and look at her through my eyes."
So its 100% true that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. I have been in love with someone for last 7 years, but i dont know how to tell her i cant lol. She is so beautiful that i think God has divided the beauty in two, He gave half of beauty to her and half to the rest of the world ;-) .

Beauty - Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
For a mom his/her child is always beautiful(no matter how ugly he/she is).
On the other hand if you look at it physically - some will say "Beauty is only skin deep".
On the other hand what you are inside is what reflects outside. However in todays world this statement might not be true all the time. So u all out there be careful in defining whats beautiful for you.
Everything that glitters is not GOLD. An old proverb I read in school very helpful in life. So as to say everything thats beautiful might not be that beautiful.
Its also good to receive some good compliments about yourself, your beauty a few days in a week, makes you feel appreciated in this world
This world is beautiful I think and its worth being born and living in it. Its just GREAT
I hope the whole world feels this way - it will be a wonderful place to live in (IT STILL IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE)

I am also researching for a topic called, "What makes a person beautiful?" for a project on the Trojan War. This page was so helpful!

Love the part about seeing the energy radiating from your body and also about the negative emotions clouding your vision. Oh, one question: What's "maya"? Pls send an e-mail to my address if u know!

i am in the process of researching for a school debate- the topic is 'is beauty better than brains?'
i have learnt that although beauty is within, it will never be judged like this. because today the media runs most of society and therefore runs what most people think. society belives physical beauty (long legs, tanned, slim etc etc)as being the only beauty that exists.
for those people that arent affected by the media i congratulate and say LOOK WITHIN

I recently met a girl, who, by the most distorted standards fo beauty, is not good looking at all. I spoke with her a lot. Turns out that she seems more beautiful to me than all the other girls I've ever met.
Beauty sure lies in the eyes of the beholder!

Scientifically speaking, beauty is averageness: if you take a composite image from a large number of facial images (of women, for example) you will end up with an image that will be universally accepted as attractive. This kind of study has been carried out in many academic institutions. It has even been shown that babies (too young to talk, therefore free from prejudicial ideas) find the same composite images attractive. Major deviations from the average are seen as ugly. This is because these deviations are seen as genetic flaws that(purely biologically speaking) we would not want our offspring to accrue.
That said, it is a person's character and integrity that ultimately shape them in the perception of others. It does not take long for an ugly character to disfigure even the most beautiful physical form. A beautiful character will also last, where time will ravage the beautiful face without distinction or mercy.
